Effects of annealing treatment on tribological behavior of tungsten-doped diamond-like carbon film under lubrication (Part 2): Tribological behavior under MoDTC lubrication

چکیده

Abstract Molybdenum dialkyldithiocarbamate (MoDTC) is widely used as a friction modifier in engine lubricating oil. Under MoDTC lubrication, the and wear behaviors of tungsten-doped diamond-like carbon (W-DLC) films annealed at 100–400 °C were discussed evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force (AFM), Raman spectroscopy. (polymerized alpha olefin) PAO + coefficient all samples decreased, but rates W-DLC 300 increased significantly. By interacting with zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP), different temperatures declined significantly owing to formation dense phosphate tribofilms on worn surfaces.

Tribological behavior of vegetable oil-based lubricants with nanoparticles of oxides in boundary lubrication conditions

This work studied the development of vegetable based lubricants and the addition of oxides nanoparticles (ZnO and CuO) as additive for extreme pressure (EP), exploring the EP and oil base influence in tribological behavior. The results showed that with the addition of nanoparticles to conventional lubricant, the tribological properties can be significantly improved. A smoother and more compact ...

Numerical investigation of the tribological performance of micro-dimple textured surfaces under hydrodynamic lubrication

Surface texturing is an important approach for controlling the tribological behavior of friction pairs used in mechanical and biological engineering. In this study, by utilizing the method of three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation, the lubrication model of a friction pair with micro-dimple array was established based on the Navier-Stokes equations. The typical pressure ...

Diamond-like carbon coating under oleic acid lubrication: Evidence for graphene oxide formation in superlow friction

The achievement of the superlubricity regime, with a friction coefficient below 0.01, is the Holy Grail of many tribological applications, with the potential to have a remarkable impact on economic and environmental issues. Based on a combined high-resolution photoemission and soft X-ray absorption study, we report that superlubricity can be realized for engineering applications in bearing stee...

Tribological behaviour of different diamond-like carbon materials

This paper comparatively studies the tribological behaviour of different types of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings in a reciprocating sliding wear test. The results are interpreted in terms of structure and surface morphological characteristics. At the beginning of each reciprocating sliding wear test, the higher coefficient of friction of the DLC coatings reflects the original surface condit...
